Reproduction print of the well-known lithograph taken from a painting of a Maori pa on the Wanganui River by John Gilfillan. The original painting is now lost and the 1851 lithograph is one of NZ’s rarest early prints. We have a few prints for sale from the 1969 edition by Avon Fine Prints, each print is handnumbered. Recently this print was profiled in NZ Art Print News, in the article “Early Prints of Maori Life: John Gilfillan’s remarkable “Interior of a Native Village”.
