W.G. Baker

William George Baker (1864-1929) was born in Wellington, and though without formal training as an artist, began exhibiting his oils in 1883. By 1904, as a professional artist, he exhibited at the St Louis Exposition, USA. Baker’s paintings are sought after by collectors of early NZ landscape art. There is one print of a WG Baker print available that was published by the Capper Press.
