A E Baxter

Alfred Ernest Baxter (1878-1936), who was born in Christchurch, NZ, studied in New Zealand and in Europe with noted watercolourists, and was himself a professional artist with a considerable reputation in his own lifetime. Many of his paintings are landscapes in the Southern Lakes and south Westland areas. He exhibited widely and is represented in the major New Zealand galleries.
