Philip Clairmont (1949-1984) was born in Nelson and studied art at the Canterbury School of Arts under Lusk, Peebles and Sutton, and, later, under Gopas, who influenced him towards his style in which works are about the response of the painter to his subject, not the subject itself. For many years we stocked a print of Clairmont's painting "Clothesline in the nor-wester", unfortunately this print is sold out as of March 2019. Please check back here to see any new Philip Clairmont prints that are published in the future.
