The Austrian born artist Friedrich Hundertwasser (1928 - 2000) moved to New Zealand in 1973. Hundertwasser was born in Vienna and changed his name from Stowasser in 1949. Although Hundertwasser was accepted into the art academy of Vienna he dropped out of formal art education after only three months. He travelled widely instead, spending time in Morocco, Tunis, Paris and the Toscana (1949-1952), which influenced his art and architecture for the rest of his life. A committed environmentalist Hundertwasser's paintings and buildings celebrated his antipathy to the straight line. We have three Hundertwasser art prints and genuine New Zealand Koru flags in stock (prices are in New Zealand dollars) and offer prompt delivery anywhere in the world.
