Dalene Meiring

Dalene Meiring was born in 1965 in Sasolburg, South Africa. She studied Fine Arts at the University of South Africa, Pretoria, emigrating to New Zealand with her family in 1997 and now lives in Auckland. Meiring has established herself as a successful New Zealand artist, with her work in private and corporate collections throughout New Zealand and overseas. Dalene's tranquil, dreamy images of women explore the relationships that bond women within their different environments. She says 'I come to know myself through painting, I paint for the love of expression of my moods I have a passion for life and all the beauty in it'.
