Marianne Muggeridge

Marianne specialised in life drawing and painting at Elam School of Fine Art, where she gained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1973. Since graduation Muggeridge has been a full-time working artist whose creative impetus is to work from life in a variety of media. In 2000 Muggeridge won the New Zealand Portrait Gallery’s inaugural National Portrait Competition and in 2002 went on to win the prestigious Adam/NZ Portrait Competition. Marianne's paintings and prints are held in numerous private and public art gallery collections throughout New Zealand and she will soon be holding a landmark retrospective exhibition of her work in Wellington. Marianne's print of Wellington houses, "Summertime Wellington", is one of New Zealand's most popular prints of all time.
