Cornelis Springer

Cornelis Springer (1817-1891), born in Amsterdam, was an architectural painter in the classical Dutch tradition. He exhibited frequently in Holland, and later in Paris. Springer received the Gold Medal of the Hague in 1857, and further Dutch honours in recognition of his work, which now has much historical interest.
