John Webber RA (1753-1793) was the official artist on Captain James Cook's third and fatal voyage into the Pacific between 1776-1780. After the voyage, the Admiralty employed him to work up finished oils and drawings which were later engraved for reproduction in the official accounts of the voyage. His beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound, New Zealand is one of a set of aquatints published in 1790 and was re-issued as a limited edition print by Avon Fine Prints.
