Rae West

There are six new prints on canvas by North Canterbury artist Rae West. Rae has been a full time artist since 2000 and she exhibits widely throughout New Zealand. In West's work she uses dark, lush colours with golden highlights to bring out the beauty of New Zealand's native flora and fauna. She includes extinct bird species such the huia in her paintings because "the birds are symbolic of our need to respect the unique New Zealand environment."
