Colin Wynn

Colin Wynn is one of New Zealand's leading sea and landscape artists. Wynn was born in Wellington in 1950, it was while at high school that his artistic talent was discovered. Wynn began painting professionally in the early 1970s and in 1972 moved to the small West Coast town of Reefton to be near the dramatic coast and mountain country he enjoys painting. Colin worked in the Environmental Division of the New Zealand Forest Service here until 1979 when he decided to make painting his fulltime career.In 1983 Wynn was invited by the Royal New Zealand Navy to be their official artist, a part-time position which involves several weeks' work every year. After "Northerly Breaker" sold out there is now one print of a Colin Wynn painting for sale at New Zealand Fine Prints.
