Lottin Point, near Gisborne on the North Island of New Zealand’s east coast. The Nikau is the world’s southernmost palm, a sub tropical looking tree that grows in the wild as far south as Banks Peninsula on the South Island. The name “Nikau” rather charmingly translates into English as “no coconuts”. We love this new print from Tony, it is a return to a favourite subject of his in an outstanding large scale print showcasing a finely realised balance of light and dark, lushness and a dramatic perspective.
