This new series of prints combine the artist’s love of New Zealand’s natural environment with the colours and forms of mid century illustration and design. Giggenbach writes of her technique that “each design starts its life as an idea only. Piece by piece it grows like a puzzle till even one more element would upset a carefully crafted balance of shape and colour.” This design features the extinct NZ native bird, the Huia.
