In this twilight scene the gigantic yet hidden forms of NZ’s distinctive nocturnal birds such as the kiwi and kakapo are sheltered in the forest behind the beach side villa. One of Barry Ross Smith’s delightful island series of prints, an artistic exploration of Aotearoa/New Zealand if we were depicted as a small island in vast Pacific Ocean. Which of course is what we are right?
