Colourful portrait of a rooster by Nelson artist Jane Evans. Published by the Peter Small Gallery and though to be long out of print. A handful of “Le Coq” prints in pristine condition that were part of the artist’s personal stock were recently consigned for sale to New Zealand Fine Prints by the artist’s brother. The size given is the image size (the coloured surface of the paper). These dimensions exclude the wide white border around the image. On this border (what we would call the “framing margin”) there is an enlarged reproduction of Evans’ signature printed below the image.
