Michael told us the original sketch for this print was drawn in Hastings where he had utilised the window of an empty shop to tout for portraits while exhibiting in Gallery 246. “When I didn’t have a portrait sitter I drew people who were outside on the pavement”, this awkward conversation captured the artist’s attention.
