Mitre Peak in Milford Sound has featured in NZ travel posters and tourism publicity pictures for over one hundred years. At one end of the world famous Milford Track in Fiordland National Park Milford Sound is the most accessible fiord by road (via the Homer Tunnel). This 1930s era vintage NZ travel poster was designed to encourage overseas tourists to visit NZ, the poster designer is Leonard Mitchell. The round vignette on the poster reads "Government Tourism Department" the text surrounds a stylised Maori portrait. This vintage poster has recently been re-issued for the first time as a high quality giclee print from an original NZ tourism department poster. It is printed onto superb vintage style watercolour paper using extremely lightfast inks that will give you many years of enjoyment.
