A delightfully illustrated early coloured map of New Zealand. New Zealand by John Rapkin is possibly the most attractive and decorative map relating to this period of New Zealand history. Published originally in 1851 as one of eighty-one illustrations in the Tallis Illustrated Atlas and Modern History of the World. The vignettes (small illustrations) are of Auckland Harbour, Mt Egmont [Taranaki] from New Plymouth and the New Zealand Company Seal. On the map New Zealand is divided into New Munster, New Ulster and New Leinster. These divisions were eplaced by the six provinces created by the 1852 Constitution Act.  Re-published by Thorndon Fine Prints (now closed), we have purchased all their remaining stock of this map and are therefore able to offer this fablulous small NZ map at a very good price while stocks last.
