At the heart of New Zealand's first National Park is the Chateau Tongariro. The mountain in the background is Mount Ngauruhoe. It reads "National Park: Best reached by Rail. North Island Main Trunk Trains to National Park Station, thence 11 miles by connecting motors." This vintage advertising poster was originally issued by the publicity department of the government owned New Zealand Railways.
