The kakapo (Stringops habroptilus) is the world’s only flightless and nocturnal parrot. It is an endangered bird. This beautiful print shows the image first published in Buller’s Birds, second edition, in 1888 with the Kakapo quaintly subtitled as an “Owl Parrot”, a common name that ended up not being so common!
