Superb modern reprint of a 1933 vintage coloured lithograph. This edition is on cotton rag paper for a true vintage feel but because it's printed with modern lightfast inks it will last for decades under normal light conditions (it's printed using the giclee process). This classic advertisement for "New Zealand: The Playground of the Pacific" features Mount Cook with skiers, tourists and mountaineers gathered outside the Hermitage hotel in the foreground. Travelers from the northern hemisphere are pictured climbing into the scene from the world map. The poster claims NZ's tallest mountain is "Thousands of Feet above Worry Level!". Originally designed by the publicity branch of N.Z. Railways this poster was used to advertise NZ to climbers and tourists from Canada, Australia and the UK.
