Atmospheric nineteenth century painting of a stormy Cook Strait by one of the most important early artists to paint in New Zealand, Nicholas Chevalier. The original painting is held in New Zealand’s national collection and this good quality print was published in conjunction with the “Art at Te Papa” exhibition which included this painting. The oil painting is based on two watercolours of waka on the Wellington Coastline completed by Chevalier twenty years earlier.  Print run now about to sell out, prints remaining in stock: 1 SOLD OUT
