Munch’s painting of a woman famously known as Madonna. There is more than one version of this painting as well as prints made by Munch of this subject. A handcoloured print of “Madonna” (a lithograph) sold at Bonhams of London for 1.25 million pounds in 2010 which was one of the highest prices ever paid for a print. One version of the “Madonna” was famously stolen from the Munch Museum of Oslo in 2004 (it was recovered a couple of years later). The print we have in stock is of the painting from the Munch museum and is printed in the UK.
