This highly decorative poster of NZ birds is based on the artwork of J.G. Keulemans (who illustrated Walter Buller’s “A History of the Birds of New Zealand”). There is a key to identifying each birds’ species printed at the bottom of the poster. The poster we have for sale is a modern re-print published to celebrate the re-issue of “Buller’s Birds of NZ” by Te Papa Press. The “Native Birds of New Zealand” poster was originally designed by William Shaw Diedrich Schmidt and printed as a coloured lithograph (chromolithograph) in 1900 by the “Brett Printing Company, Auckland, NZ.
