Michael’s background notes on what at first glance appears to be an abstract composition tells us a bit more about the origins of this image. Smither writes “’After Seurat’ is the title I used for a screenprint made at my Otama studio after travel to the UK and USA to view Seurat's paintings. This dyptch isolates part of the original Otama studio print, and develops two more individual compositions which because of their common origin, sit well together and form yet another composition.
