Print of an 1833 French engraving of “Natai” a Maori chief from Bream Bay in New Zealand’s far north. Published by Wellington fine art print publisher Thorndon Fine Prints. This print faithfully records a traditional chisel cut tattoo which would have been of enormous interest to European eyes that had not seen moko before.
