Titled Pohutakawa (Metrosideros Tomentosa) (note the earlier spelling and scientific name for this plant) this print is of an illustration from the first colour publication printed wholly in NZ in 1890. The botanical prints of Sarah Featon’s “Art Album of New Zealand Flora” were lithographed in Wellington from watercolour illustrations and accompanied by descriptions written by her husband, Edward. You are buying a very nice re-print of the original bookplate published by Thorndon Fine Prints.
