The strong environmental message that underlys the work of Christchurch artist Mike Glover is evident in this work. As he says “The human body is about 60 per cent water. Water has a value that money can’t buy – it is us and we are it – it literally flows through us. We really do need to care for our water.” Water usuage is a controversial issue in the Canterbury region due to the increasing pressure on the artisian water supply due to irrigation.
