Recently we learned a lot more about this famous Maori portrait painting when one of our prints was found in an antique store in Atlanta, USA. There was an essay on the back all about LIndauer and Rewi Manga Maniopoto. We learned that the cloak is actually decorated with the hair from dogs specially bred for their white tails!
